The record for best DX between 14er stations is 188 miles, set in 1995 during a QSO between Andy AA0CM on Longs Peak and
Jan W3GEY on Sunshine Peak (2m fm HT contact).
The record for best DX from a 14er station using 2m fm was made by N0KE on Mt Bross and N0LL in Smith Center, Kansas for a distance of 375 miles. They worked on 2M SSB, 2M FM, 222 MHz SSB and 432 Mhz CW.
The 2m all-mode record of 551 miles was set by N0XDW and N0KE on Mt Bross, who both worked W7XU and N0QJM on CW near Parker, South Dakota (Grid EN13lm).
Other notable contacts:
A 2M SSB contact over a distance of 395 miles made by W4HXC on Mt Evans and N5OBA on South Baldy in New Mexico. N5OBA was at 10,700 feet in elevation in the Magdalena Mountains (VHF Grid DM63).
A 2m SSB contact over a distance of 388 miles, by N0IVN on Mt. Evans, contacting N0YKR in Great Bend, KS.
Bob/K0NR and Joyce/K0JJW on W0C/SP-042 worked Terry/WB0RBA on Mount Tukuhnikivatz (W7U/SU-002) in Utah on 2m FM, about 155 miles away. (2020)
