Central States VHF Society Conference -- July 27-30
The Central States VHF Society (CSVHFS) Conference will occur in Albuquerque on July 27-30 at the Sheraton Albuquerque Airport hotel, hosted by the members of Rocky Mountain Ham Radio. This event is the largest VHF/UHF/microwave conference in the nation, and attracts some of the most knowledgable VHF/UHF/microwave hams from across the United States, Canada and other countries.
This conference is open to those interested in learning about or getting involved with, operating on, experimenting with, designing, contesting, DXing, etc. on amateur radio’s VHF, UHF, and microwave bands. The conference welcomes all hams who are merely curious about the world beyond FM on VHF & above, just getting started, or experienced.
Activities include semi-technical and technical presentations, a display of VHF/UHF/microwave contest rover vehicles from around the nation, a display of portable microwave stations and dish antennas, posterboard presentations, a VHF/UHF/microwave equipment swapfest, luncheons and banquet dinner with guest speakers, prizes, an outdoor antenna range for attendees to measure the performance of their VHF/UHF/microwave antennas, a specially arranged tour of the NRAO Very Large Array (VLA), family activities, and more.
The CSVHFS Conference will also offer two programs specially tailored for the curious and beginners — VHF101 and VHF102 — to teach you what the world beyond FM on the VHF/UHF/microwaves is all about, the exciting activities that happen on those frequencies, how to get started, where to find resources, VHF/UHF/microwave activities happening near you, and more. Attendees of VHF101 will also have the opportunity to build, tune, test, and take home their very own 70-cm yagi antenna.
