Colorado 14er Awards

I'd like to announce the first recipients of the Colorado 14er
Awards. But first, a big THANK YOU goes to Paul Ermisch for putting
together the award certificate and agreeing to be the awards manager.
Paul just received the callsign NN0C (formerly KB0LUR.)
The SUMMIT AWARD goes to radio amateurs that contact 10 or more of
the 14er summits. There have been three awards issued:
Award #1 - KA0MWA - Timothy Tonge - 10 peaks - Sept 2003
Award #2 - W6OAL - Dave Clingerman - 10 peaks - November 2003
Award #3 - K0YB - Colorado VHF Group - 11 peaks - November 2003
Congrats to Tim and Dave for being the first two award recipients.
K0YB is the club call of the mostly harmless radio crew often found
on Pikes Peak. Note that these awards were issued for only 10 or 11
peaks. Surely someone will come along and beat that!
The PINNACLE AWARD goes to radio amateurs OPERATING FROM 5 or more
peaks. NO ONE HAS QUALIFIED FOR THIS AWARD YET, so you can be the

event participant (operating from different peaks in
different years ) ? or someone who operates from 5
peaks at any time throughout the year ? What are the
credentials to 'win' ? Hmmmm this may inspire me
to bag some more 14ers with HT in hand..... you know,
before they get serious with all the summit road
